The Wine & Truffle Co wins Emerging Exporter

The Wine & Truffle Co is proud to announce that it has been selected as the winner of Emerging Exporter Award for The Western Australian Industry and Export Awards, announced on Friday 3rd October 2009.
The Western Australian Industry and Export Awards are the State's most prestigious business awards. They acknowledge the innovation, hard work and success of businesses, large and small, in reaching new markets.
These awards now in their 21st year, also acknowledge the important contribution that Western Australian businesses make to the local economy through job creation and increased prosperity in the community.
Alan Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of The Wine & Truffle Co said, “It’s pleasing to receive recognition for our efforts, especially in Western Australia were many people are focused on exports.
We’re taking a unique product, Manjimup fresh black truffle, out to the world and we’re recognised as providing a high quality offering to chefs and gourmet food lover's worldwide.”
During the 2009 truffle season, The Wine & Truffle Co exported to over fourteen international markets in addition to providing fresh truffle to restaurants across Australia.
About The Wine & Truffle Co (WTC)
WTC began cultivating truffles in Western Australia in 1997 at Manjimup WA. Over 13,000 trees were planted making this the largest mainland truffiere in Australia. The first truffle was harvested in 2003, WTC produced in 2005 the largest truffle ever found outside of France - a one-kilogram truffle.
