Our Team

The Wine and Truffle Co is made up of a great team of people, based at our Manjimup Trufferie and cellar door  and in our Perth office. All focused on serving the needs of our clients and truffle lovers around the world.

Alan Nelson, CEO

Since being converted to the flavour and aromas of truffles Alan, a successful businessman and Perth based entrepreneur, has logged many miles between Perth and Manjimup and around the globe talking about truffles! When he’s not thinking about truffles he is wondering how to spend more time listening to blues music and riding his motorbike.

Paul Nolan

With over 30 years experience in tourism Paul, our Tourism Manager is passionate about the local region and the truffle industry and looks forward to making your trip to visit us a special one. He’s also a dab hand a construction having built his own house!

Sake van Weeghel

Hailing from Holland Sake enjoys the Perth sunshine, beaches, beach volleyball and bbqs. When he is not outdoors he is focused on ensuring that all areas of Finance and Administration for the company are in hand, which just might include some quality control on truffles!

Cassie Steer

Responsible for our distribution and wholesale network of suppliers Cassie, a lover of all good wine and food, is often out of the office showcasing our range. When not passing on her passion for our products she spends time in the gym idly wondering if this is the year she should attempt a triathlon, once she learns to ride a bike.

Sabrina Antony

Sabrina is part of the close knit team in Perth and is integral to making sure your order gets to you. You’ll often hear her on the phone checking that all our deliveries are running smoothly. Her keen eye for detail is put to good use cake decorating and she has exhibited her sweet creations with great success at the Perth Royal show.

Linda Frith

Linda, hailing from the UK, is Alan’s PA. She’s always busy and always organised which means she’s a perfect fit for the role of keeping the CEO on track. Travel, tennis and knitting are high on her lists of things to make time for on the calendar.

Fran Lee, Truffle Manager and Chief Dog Trainer

With over 30 years experience in training dogs for a range of roles Fran started truffle hunting with her dogs in 2006. Having worked in several trufferies on Australia’s east coast, Fran is looking forward to the harvest amongst our hazelnut trees in Manjimup. When she’s not in the Trufferie Fran enjoys fast cars, fast bikes, fast dogs, and slow food.

Iain Menzies & Joel Holbrook

Joel has been known to cook up a storm in the kitchen, while Iain has been part of our team since August 2006 before he even had a real kitchen! Both have a passion for truffles and for pleasing our visitors so book yourself a table at the café soon and enjoy.

Cellar Door Team

In the vineyard, in the trufferie, the kitchen and in the cellar door and café we have a great crew that is dedicated to providing you with a relaxed and enjoyable stay. Meagan, Brendon, Edna, Mick, Matt, Leah, Kelly and Corrie-Anne all welcome you.

Harry Eslick

As our chief truffle researcher Harry has a foot in Perth and a foot in the dark rich soil in Manjimup, constantly checking and nursing the truffles to production each season. He is also working on his Ph.D., researching truffles of course!
